Students should generally have the opportunity to take part in two rounds of work experience during their time with us; once in Year 10 and again in Year 11.
Dates for the current year are:
- Year 11 : 8-12 December 2025
- Year 10 : 8-12 June 2026
We usually find that self-placements work best through family, friends or other contacts who are able to offer work experience. We are happy to make the necessary checks and set up the placement. Alternatively local shops or businesses may be able to offer opportunities for work experience. Please note that it is essential that any potential employer has Employers Liability Insurance. Work experience is an excellent way to introduce young people to the world of work. This should enable them to:
- gain an insight into the workplace
- work alongside adults as part of a team
- gain practical skills
- develop employability skills
- develop independence, confidence and self-esteem.
